coolest relay location ... ever

Officially the coolest Relay for Life venue ever! And remember that’s
official coming from someone who is employed by the ACS for only 26 more
hours. This is the site of the Second Life Relay for Life event that is happening
tomorrow. Second Life is a virtual
world developed by Linden Labs. All
the signs, luminaries, blimps, boats, track, donation points, amphitheater Etc
were created by volunteers. One great thing about SL is that the online
currency is freely exchangeable with US dollars thus allowing people to donate
with in-game money which the ACS can then convert to real world money.
You can also chat with those participating in the Relay and see video of the
event at this page
It is also the first event to have a blimp built by volunteers. Is
that really safe?

So everyone that wants their Relay For Life fix go sign up
for your free SL account (first week
is free) and come to the first ever virtual Relay ... a momentous occasion that
you will be able to brag to your grandkids about. From the RFL
Second Life page on cancer.org:
Second Life® Relay For Life will begin at 5:00 PM Pacific time on August 27th with the survivors lap and opening ceremonies. Like all relays we will be hosting events throughout the evening. At 11:00 AM Pacific time, August 28th, we will close our silent auction and begin our official closing ceremonies at 11:30 AM.
If you can't make an appearance please donate to support all those Second Life residents that have put in a tremendous amount of work on making this Relay a success.

Life page on cancer.org

chris, have you heard of Word of Blog http://www.wordofblog.net?
"Word of Blog is a new and free service that helps you spread the word about things you like, events you care about and worthy causes you want to support."
This looks interesting although I haven't tried it yet. Might be a way to spread the word for the Relay and other causes
(Heard it from [501techclub-dc]http://list.nten.org/lists/info/501techclub-dc)
